Monarchs Royal Purple Playing Cards by Theory11 - Regal Sophistication
Monarchs are pretty well known by card collectors, cardists, and magicians. They have a clean design, a beautiful tuck box (more intricately designed/colored than the cards themselves), and are on the better end of USPCC's standard printing. This purple edition doesn't do anything new, but the color brings a freshness to the standard Monarch template. If you're looking for the best readily available version of the Monarch line, this is it.
As always, Theory 11 delivers a beautiful deck that handles well. The back design, the ace of spades, and jokers are very nice. I prefer the green deck to the purple, which would have looked better, I think, if the color were a little darker. The 4-deck series is a nice addition to a collection
Being the color of royalty, this deck is on the nose with its regal bearing. I had to pick this deck up, though I have had many Monarchs over the years. I, personally, love purple in playing card decks, and I think it is a color not used nearly enough (that and teal). As always, Theory 11 makes a great tuck with great embellishment married to excellent quality cards with a great feel and a great finish. They feel smooth, fan well, and are easily recognizable with the standard pips and faces. Don't buy into hype, but instead get a deck that speaks to you and follow the colorways that you want.
This is a great deck to for multiple uses. The cards are definitely designed for standard gameplay with an elegant back design that isn't too distracting. The tuck case highlights the fanciness of the deck. Although the deck could be used for magic, it does not come with any extra gaff cards favored by magicians. Still, this deck has gained popularity due to highlights in movies and magazines. For the price, this deck cannot be beat.
I just got this deck in amd I love it. The colors are great and the tuck box is well done. They handle great as well.
