- A Lonely Robot
Memento Mori: Genesis is Adrian Valenzuela's reimagining of the widely celebrated design. With Humble beginnings as a self-challenge to re-create the brand using only 3D software, this redesign takes the familiar low poly skull into a fully rendered 3-dimensional masterpiece.
While in earlier iterations the poly's were drawn with their own unique color, this recreation uses a collection of glass polys and painted with a photorealistic light source to create the broad spectrum of colors that makes the Memento Mori series unique. It is the next iteration of modern design that will be remembered by the ages. Never forget your own humble beginnings. Memento Mori: Genesis
Love the color scheme and the rendering on this skull. I like this one even better than the holographic deck.
According to what I know, this time Memento Mori used only 3D rendering to make the deck. That's why it's even more realistic than other Memento Mori. The orange to blue color looks sooooo cool and the design is definitely amazing. Not too fancy but shows complexity in a clean way. But too make it 3D and look cool, the face cards color is not symmetrical, which is a little bit sad. Well that's the price for the remarkably beautiful statue-like Jacks Queens and Kings
I was a big fan of the original Memento Mori design, and to be perfectly honest, an even bigger fan of the NXS version (despite it being an offshoot). This Genesis version offers yet another design standpoint while maintaining its roots in the original. I love the colors and the 3D style renderings of the skull are a great method of distinction from just another colorway of the NXS or original.
