London Gold Diffractor Playing Cards

Presenting the second in the Diffractor City Series, VXD Gaming brings you the London Diffractor. Designed by VXD Gaming and Lance T Miller and produced by Vrijdag Premium Printing, the London Diffractor decks use the patented printing technology developed by VXD Gaming (US. Patent. No. 8,777,225), which combines a standard layer of ink printing, as found on normal playing cards, with an additional hot-stamped layer of transparent holographics, of the type typically only found on passports and other ID documents. This combination produces an entirely unique look within the playing cards industry and presents new possibilities for design expression and sets a new bar for luxuriousness. The result is a mesmerizing combination of holographics and ink, lighting up at different angles and in different lighting conditions and producing a combined artwork which tells a story of the heritage of London.

Our tip: For best effect, we recommend viewing under a single bright light source such as a halogen spotlight, with ambient lighting around (such as daylight) cut to a minimum. Casino table lighting conditions are ideal, for instance.

London Diffractor - Gold

The Gold Deck showcases a layer of individual custom transparent holographics on every card front, plus a metal-backed and patterned holographic foil on the card backs. An additional gold metal foil layer on the card backs finishes off the intense luxury look.

Interesting design ideas

I like the idea of what the Diffractor series is doing. Printing with their patented holographic techniques allows a look reminiscent of passport and money security holographics. The London deck is interesting and provides a great look. The only reason I rate down to four stars is the lower quality handling as well as what I can only describe as a non-standard edge cutting for the cards themselves.
