James Bond 007 Playing Cards by Theory11 - Licensed to Thrill

I was very pleased with this deck. High quality cards with great attention to the design: from the backs to the extra details on the face cards (guns, knives, even a "Q-special" fountain pen). The black-lined box adds a luxe look, and number cards have an almost retro/vintage look, perfect for a game of baccarat in Monte Carlo. You won't be disappointed with this deck of cards.

Let's start with the box --MAGNIFICENT! The gold foil gives a luxurious look and luster, and the embossed 3-D logo helps create an amazing visual experience. I actually turned it over and over in my hands for quite awhile before opening it. Wow!

The cards themselves are very nice, and as mentioned the face cards are unique in that they hold weapons from James Bond films. But I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that there was a missed opportunity here. I mean, this is a licensed property, right? So they have access to the incredible, sexy, colorful world that is BOND. So many iconic images that are forever associated with the series: the Aston Martin DB5, the giant laser about to cut Bond in half, the underwater car, Jaws, the golden girl lying dead on the bed, Odd Job and his deadly derby, Blofeld with the scar across his face, the evil Dr. No... all these indelible images -- and we get the Queen of Clubs holding Jinx's knife??? It just feels like there could have been so much more... excitement. (And truthfully, it just looks like a plain old knife that the Queen is holding... I didn't know it was "Jinx's knife" until I read the promo.) Same with the Jokers and Aces, mostly featuring variations on the 007 logo. How about a Joker featuring Ian Fleming, who created the character?
So that's my opinion... they are classy, but I feel they could have been so much more. (And maybe it's just me. I got a deck for a James Bond fan friend, and he looooooved them. So there!)

This deck has the amazing quality we all expect from theory 11, but I'd say my favorite detail is the court cards, they each carry modern weapons, and it's a very cool detail that people always notice when you play games with this deck.

This deck is everything one has come to expect from Theory 11. The design is exquisite and the attention to detail is wonderful, Attractive and well handling.
