A January 2021 Pip Box Club Selection - For more information on joining Pip Box Club click here

James Bond first appeared on our screens in the classic 1962 film Dr. No. 58 years later, 007 is still our favorite secret agent. In celebration of the twenty-fifth installment in the beloved James Bond series - No Time To Die - theory11 proudly presents James Bond 007 Playing Cards.

Elegance, Class, and Sophistication

THE WORLD OF JAMES BOND

Whether it's his perfectly tailored suit or the impeccable timepiece clasped to his wrist, Mr. Bond commands your attention when he enters the room. Perfectly encapsulated in gold foil and embossed accents, the ultra-lux outer packaging is truly representative of the esteemed intelligence officer.

Unrivaled Print Quality

MADE IN AMERICA

theory11 produces the world's finest playing cards, and these are a case study example. The box features two layers of gold foil, with a sculpted 3D emboss of the James Bond family crest on the back panel.

A Closer Look

INSIDE THE BOX

A closer look inside will reveal several iconic weapons and gadgets that have been featured in your favorite Bond films: the pen grenade from GoldenEye, Bond's trusty Walther PPK, the ski pole gun from The Spy Who Loved Me, Jinx's knife from Die Another Day, and much more!

I am Shaken... Not Stirred

Let's start with the box --MAGNIFICENT! The gold foil gives a luxurious look and luster, and the embossed 3-D logo helps create an amazing visual experience. I actually turned it over and over in my hands for quite awhile before opening it. Wow!

The cards themselves are very nice, and as mentioned the face cards are unique in that they hold weapons from James Bond films. But I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that there was a missed opportunity here. I mean, this is a licensed property, right? So they have access to the incredible, sexy, colorful world that is BOND. So many iconic images that are forever associated with the series: the Aston Martin DB5, the giant laser about to cut Bond in half, the underwater car, Jaws, the golden girl lying dead on the bed, Odd Job and his deadly derby, Blofeld with the scar across his face, the evil Dr. No... all these indelible images -- and we get the Queen of Clubs holding Jinx's knife??? It just feels like there could have been so much more... excitement. (And truthfully, it just looks like a plain old knife that the Queen is holding... I didn't know it was "Jinx's knife" until I read the promo.) Same with the Jokers and Aces, mostly featuring variations on the 007 logo. How about a Joker featuring Ian Fleming, who created the character?
So that's my opinion... they are classy, but I feel they could have been so much more. (And maybe it's just me. I got a deck for a James Bond fan friend, and he looooooved them. So there!)

007 would like it

This deck has the amazing quality we all expect from theory 11, but I'd say my favorite detail is the court cards, they each carry modern weapons, and it's a very cool detail that people always notice when you play games with this deck.

Another amazing Theory11 tuck box

When it comes to glamorous tuck boxes, it doesn't get much better than the luxury of playing card producer Theory11. This wonderful deck is a tribute to agent 007, James Bond. I collect most of the Theory11 decks, and this one is particularly terrific, with a supreme tuck box, and Bond-inspired paraphernalia on the court cards and on the card back. Close observers will find many Bond gadgets and more if they search the details on the tuck box and the details of the playing cards themselves. I only wish the card backs had another colour, but that aside, it's black, gold, and classy all round.
