Nice value deck

Plain Tuckbox and pretty basic design (although the shell backs are cool). The jumbo indices are really nice. Seems like something more cards should offer.

The finish is nice, and they fan well. Moderate stiffness out of the box.

Great Jumbo deck

I like the Hoyle Jumbo tuck, as it clearly shows the Jumbo card design.
There is no question in low light, or high intoxication what deck it is.
That is reason enough to have these.
I will say this,
I have recently purchased a vintage pack of unopened Hoyle Jumbos, from the early 90s.
I opened them and compared to a brand new pack.
The finish is notably different.
The vintage cards are almost aggressively textured compared to my other decks.
Very different than a Bicycle finish, which is basically how the new Hoyle cards feel
to me. Very slick in comparison to the vintage at the very least.
The artwork is exact.
To me personally, the Hoyle back design, especially in blue, is one of the all time best.
This is just an observation, not a detraction.
It'd been so long since I opened a pack of Hoyle cards, I honestly couldn't remember anymore.
Vintage deck did have 2 Hoyle dual/face jokers. One face marked with a 1's or lines in the corners, the other face with small paragraph on guarantee.
The new deck had 1 dual/face joker, and 1 paragraph word card.

The iconic Hoyle Jester

This is the blue "shell backed" version of an iconic deck of cards. This "jumbo" version of these playing cards have the larger corner index pips, and are, in my opinion, far superior to the "standard" version. For the collectors seeking the iconic Hoyle jester, he comes printed on a full sized joker card, the other joker being a simple "text and font" joker which reads "according to Hoyle". As a card collector, this is the reason I've given this deck four stars instead of five. The U.S. Playing Card Co. has never included two "full sized" Hoyle jester cards. They used to include a full sized jester joker and a guarantee jester joker. Now they include a full sized jester joker and the aforementioned "according to Hoyle" joker. This would be five stars if two full sized jesters were included, and a separate card (perhaps the "according to Hoyle" card) was used as the guarantee. For this reason, I always buy this deck two at a time, and I put the two "good" jokers together in one pack for my personal collection, and put the other two "boring" jokers that in the pack that goes on my dining room table where poker games and other such card game nights are held.
