In the days before the Internet and satellites.

I don't know the demographics of Will's customer base, but I know that I'm 64. I grew up in the time before the Internet, when computers were mysterious and expensive.

My late grandfather was an electronics hobbyist. I watched him build an AM radio with tubes. When I was 8, he bought me a pair of Morse Code Keys that could be wired together. When I pressed the key on one unit, the other unit buzzed and a light flashed. I thought it was neat to play with, but I know he was disappointed that I never learned Morse Code and became a Ham.

Morse code and the other signalling methods described and included in this boxed set come from an age before satellites or the Internet, when communications were limited by line of sight or the distance a radio wave could travel. Morse code was dependable because it's a binary system (ON or OFF) of sounds or lights measured by duration and it's unambiguous.

The set includes Morse code signal devices (not electronic), semaphor devices, various posters displaying these systems, and two decks of cards which are meant to be used as flash cards to memorize these systems. The design of this set and the graphics on the posters is excellent, and I think it's a bargain at $19.99

Thank you, Will, for helping me remember my grandfather. I intend to learn Morse Code and then visit his grave and tap out a message to him on his headstone.
