Heritage Series 4 Deck Set Bicycle Playing Cards
The U.S. Playing Card Co. revived four designs of Bicycle cards that had not been printed for at least 80 years. The cards were produced late in 2010 for an East Coast grocery store chain but are not being marketed anywhere else.
The series includes:
Pedal Back, Red (originally made from 1899-1917)
Pneumatic #1, Red (1894-1908)
Tri-Tire #2, Blue (1905-1927)
Chainless, Blue (1899-1917)
There are four decks in this series, and each deck was made in only one color, red or blue.
The back designs are nice, the pips are standard, and the stock is, I assume, USPCC retail--but the finish is utter garbage. I don't see any indication on the tuck box of Bicycle's "air-cushion finish," and that's good because it feels like beach sand finish. The review above says that the cards don't fan well, and that is a tremendous understatement. The cards are sticky and clumpy and awful for magic or cardistry--heck, even a riffle shuffle is oddly challenging.
Very disappointing.
I bought the 4 deck set. All 4 decks have standard Bicycle brand pips. Nice art on the card backs. Mine didn't fan as well as most Bicycle deck do. Perhaps they need to be broken in?
