Dondorf Playing Cards
Lithographer and printer Bernhard Dondorf founded the B. Dondorf company on April 2, 1833 as printing and trading company in Frankfurt, Germany. He specialized in high-quality print products. From 1839 they mainly focused on the production of playing cards.
This revived and redesigned deck from the late 19th century got printed to honor these almost forgotten art pieces.
Manufactured by the US Playing Card Company. Printed on premium thin crushed paper stock with Air-Cushion Finish and traditional cut to guarantee the best possible quality from our present.
I love the look of this deck. Elegant floral daisy backs in a white and light blue. The court cards are also an elegant vintage look. A very stylish ace of spades with a large spade pip and floral border that nearly fills the face. The deck comes with two identical jokers featuring an axe and swordsman. There is also a second king of diamonds with a known(!) modern face. One "ad card" describing the deck design by Daniel Schneider.
