Designed by Simon Frouws, these premium, luxury playing cards feature elegant gold foil hot stamped onto ultra-lux paper derived from sustainable forests.
A breathtaking union of style, elegance, and sophistication.
Featured in Departures Magazine, Artisans have received rave reviews around the world. David Copperfield called them "the best playing cards ever produced."
Artisan Playing Cards are produced at The United States Playing Card Company using FSC-certified papers derived from sustainable forests, vegetable-based inks and starch-based laminates. The result is a durable finish that respects the environment. Sealed with a red tax-stamp, vintage sticker seal marked with the year of print.
Theory 11 always makes great decks but The Artisan Collection is amongst my favorites. It's hard to choose only White or Black so this set is def the way to go.
I really love these, and use the Gold Edition as my go-to's, which are unfortunately not available here. Bought the White and Black Artisans here to support playingcarddecks.com instead of the big box store where I buy the gold ones. Both of my white and black Artisans have traditional cut, but I've read reviews elsewhere that other people got standard cut. All of my other Theory11 decks have standard cut as far as I can tell (most are too well used for me to tell anymore. I'm not sure how to tell which ones will come with traditional cut, or if YMMV, but mine have a red 2018 seal on them.
The Artisan 2 Deck Set Playing Cards printed at USPCC are an amazingly designed and have an incredible tuck case.
These are great decks! Both the black and the white decks are very similar. We start with a beautiful box adorned with metallic inks. The symmetrical card backs feature a white border, along with gold and black inks for the black deck, or gold and white inks for the white deck, with the letters "AG" as well as a "1T1" logo for "Theory 11". The ace of spades is ornate and beautiful, featuring nice scroll work similar to the card backs, as well as the word "ARTISAN" and the "AG" logo again. The cards also say "EDITION NUMBER" followed by their respective edition numbers at the bottom, and the words "BLACK EDITION" or "WHITE EDITION" appear accordingly on the cards. There are two full sized jokers included, which look like sort of a seal in the middle of the card, featuring the "Jolly Joker" juggling a pip from each of the four suits. The court cards, while standard, feature a noticeably darker coloration, making more use of black and gold. The rest of the deck is completely standard, save for the fact that PERHAPS the center pips on the other cards MIGHT be a little bigger than normal, but this could just be my eyes deceiving me. I'm normally quite critical of a deck that doesn't carry a theme all the way thru the deck, and while I wish that other cards had more embellishment to them, somehow, this actually works. Scaling back a bit and going simple somehow made these decks nicer and gave them a more classy feel, and they are solid pieces to any collection.
Outstanding tuck box artwork. If you enjoy luxury playing cards, then get this deck. Heck, get both the black and the white deck. Break these out on poker night (or not) and watch the reactions.
