11th Hour Marked Playing Cards

11th Hour Playing Cards are a perfect collaboration and melding of the minds of Emilysleights52 and Bill Davis Magic. This deck of playing cards represents the limited time we all have left and what we intend to do with it. With Emily's vision of time running out and Bill's fascination with the time 11:11, they created this perfectly masterful timepiece.

The tuck, deck and its marking system were developed from top to bottom by Emily and Bill who enlisted the design assistance of Daniel Schneider, designer of the Orbit deck series V3 and above, and Destino, the creator of the Hannya deck series. This is Destino's ORIGINAL fully marked symmetrical dual-clock back design!

Full of symbolism and hidden meaning, this deck showcases pocket watch faces indicating 11 minutes past the last hour - the 11th hour: "A Point in Time That is Nearly Too Late."

What kind of deck is this?

This is a high-quality standard poker-size deck made by USPCC (The United States Playing Card Company), the most widely known and trusted playing card company in the industry, housed in a gorgeous specialty tuck by Gambler's Warehouse.

What do they feature?

11th Hour Playing Cards contain mostly standard Bicycle faces on classic card stock with air cushion finish. All colors have been changed to a classy deeper red and a beautiful bronze that compliments the velvet-soft black vellum tuck featuring bronze foil inside and out. Card backs feature a custom back design with traditional thick borders and a hidden one-way back design indicated by a dark marking in one of the crowns. 55 of the card backs are fully marked including the duplicate 9 of Clubs, custom Ace of Spades and both unique custom reveal Jokers. All custom courts feature pocket watches (by Daniel Schneider)! The deck also includes a 2-sided ad card featuring the designers and explaining the marking system.

A quite interesting deck!

I do enjoy aspects of this deck and find it very creative. It handles and feels excellent, as expected from USPCC. Like a previous reviewer stated, I do enjoy the one way back design and court card reveals as well as the duplicate card included in this deck. I'm not 100% understanding the joker reveal that the deck advertises, unless you are talking about the marking system on the back of the cards. That being said, although I enjoy the creativity of the marking system, I'm not sure how effective it is going to be. my skepticism stems from the fact that most marking systems are discreet and usually appear in areas of the card that doesn't draw attention. I think that because the back design of the card focuses on the clock, it because the focal point of audience attention. I would think that this would increase likelihood of them knowing that it's a marked deck. But it's just speculation, I haven't put it in practice to say anything definitively.

Don't wait for the 11th hour to buy

I like to use marked decks, not so much for revealing cards, but more for a backup in case something goes wrong or spectators don't follow instructions. That aside, a deck has to also handle well and this deck does. It fans smoothly, faros nicely, and spreads cleanly. The cards themselves are on the thick side and seem to be a bit stiff out of the box. The marking system is done well and I think that even if a spectator assumes that the deck is marked, it might take them a while to figure it out, but you can probably guess how it's marked based on the clock design. You may also recognize some of the faces on the court cards. The tuck box is designed with numbers inside, with a big clock on one side and the phrase "Play Your Last Hand Well" on the other. It also features a duplicate 9 of Clubs, and a 9 of clubs reveal on one of the court cards and a one-way back design. Overall, it's a nice deck loaded with a lot of features.
