One of the baddest, sickest cards in my collection! The artistry and detail is unbelievable. A must have !
Each of the original five band members appears exactly three times on the face cards or aces. Or rather, their image from the Appetite For Destruction cover does. Axl appears on three of the aces, Slash on three of the kings, Adler on three of the queens, Izzy on three of the jacks, and Duff appears on one king, queen, and jack. The leftover ace of spades has all of them. A unique arrangement.
A red and black joker have their symbol on them, and some spot cards have some extra artwork. Excellent tribute to one of the best bands of all time.
These are the best storage boxes, opening up sideways, without the need to fuss with flaps that may scrape the deck, and thick enough to be fairly sturdy.
People associate Bicycle with playing cards. They have been around for a LONG time and are generally an affordable playing card. These Viking themed cards are nice, but they come at a premium price. I got these for my daughter. She is a big card game player (she plays solitaire every night to help fall asleep) and her grandparents are from Norway and always play up the Viking heritage. Win win!The cards come in a hard plastic case which will help protect from damage, spills and also makes it easy to toss in a bag for portability. Inside, however, the cards are not made from the sturdiest card stock. I would say they are average quality at best. The real star of this set is the Viking themed artwork. The numbered cards, if you didn't know they were supposed to be themed, would just look like fancy suit icons. They really aren't specific to the theme. When you get to the face cards and Jokers, that all changes. These really run with the Viking theme with each suit having their own set of characters. They really look great.I think that these might be aimed at a collector rather than a daily card player. The cards aren't heavy duty and they come at a premium price. A 12 pack of similar card stock quality decks by Bicycle can be picked up for about $30 while this single set of Viking cards is $13. Yes, you do get some nice artwork and a carry case, but I am not sure it's worth it if you are just looking for a deck to play card games.
I like the history and legend that is portrayed within these cards, nice rich Norse and Viking images and representation. The cards themselves are typical bicycle standard, smooth feel, nice finish for an easy shuffle and deal, great for card tricks, poker or any other game you wish to play with them.Definitely a great deck to add to my collection.
I live in a Viking town / community and we are always looking for ways to pay an homage to our Norse relationships. These are no exception to the rule. I love them. They show class and distinction In the brutalist of ways. If you like custom art styling and playing cards, bicycle did ya right here.
Saw these and had to pick them up for my son, who's interested in Viking culture. The cardstock used for this deck of cards is very nice. The cards appear durable and have a nice Norse theme to the card design. They are kinda' pricey, but if you're into the Viking thing, you will get a quality set of collectible cards.
Bicycle playing cards have spoiled me. They feel so good I cannot stand using cheap cards. I have traditionally avoided playing cards printed in a theme because it seemed those cards were always horribly cheap. I don’t know if Bicycle has always been in the business of producing theme cards, but I am quite glad they made these. My son enjoyed a class about Norse mythology, so what do you get a kid who likes playing cards and Vikings? You get him these cards, of course. And he loves them.
This is such a cool deck of cards! First of all, I guess I should preface this with the explanation that I collect playing cards and have over 2000 decks of all types imaginable. This is my first viking themed deck. The artwork is excellent--somewhere between 'realistic' and 'abstract' if that makes any sense. They're a great collectible (only 2,500 made) and will be great to play with if that's your choice. The Bicycle Air-Cushion finish means it'll play well, deal well and shuffle well right out of the box. That's not always the case with other 'collectible' cards--many are too slick for use right out of the box and need some time to break in. Collect 'em or play with 'em--these are great cards. Highly recommended!
These are very pretty cards. They are regular sized playing cards. I made sure there is one of each card, plus 2 jokers. There is also a card that's got the back on both sides and an extra card that has 2 miscellaneous faces. Because of course there are. The cards arrived in good shape. This is $13 today, and because I'm old, that feels expensive, but it turns out it's mid-priced. I like the box it comes in too.
I'm a fan of different decks of playing cards because it's just cool to bring them out for euchre or spades or cribbage. These are Bicycle, so the quality is definitely there in the cards themselves. The art is austere, sharp and sets a little different tone. You want a cold goblet of mead when you play these.
Nice set of playing cards. But Bicycle is pretty consistent.
We're casual card gamers who always look to Bicycle for an interesting design when we need a new deck of cards. This Viking-themed deck definitely fits into the interesting category! The deck is poker sized and comes in a traditional Bicycle card box. The finish on the cards is immaculate as usual, smooth to the touch and easy to shuffle and deal. The card back pattern is nice, not the best Bicycle design I've seen but still looks good to my eyes. The color scheme is black, dark gray, salmon-pink and dark pink. The face cards are what most Bicycle decks are about. Each suit has three figures in Viking garb. Unfortunately, the face cards are somewhat monotone – black and gray vs salmon and dark pink – and IMO aren't as nice as other Bicycle decks we have used. Also, the figures are not all that different between suits, to the point where I thought all four suits had the same figures at first. Some more variety and color would have been nice. Still, they are to theme and how they look doesn't affect game play. The Ace of Spades has a great viking ship design that matches the theme. And unlike other Bicycle decks we have the other three Aces have additional stylization to them, which I appreciate. The number cards are clean and easily readable. All the pips have the same stylization as the Aces. This set stands out from our others mainly for this reason. In addition to the main 52 cards, this deck also includes 2 jokers and 2 gaff cards. One of the gaff cards has the card back design on both sides and the other has the King of Spaces on one side and the 2 of Hearts on the other side.Aside from my minor complaints about the face cards, this is a Bicycle deck and as such it is a joy to play with. I'm happy to add this deck to our playing card arsenal.
Very nice cards. I take them with me when I crush a monetary or raid Paris.
I was hoping there would be more Viking stuff not just a picture Cards
These Viking themed Bicycle playing cards are great. They come inside a plastic storage box and the patterns are really unique. The cards are a little stiff and slippery at first but they break in fast. Nice looking and quality playing cards.
This is a nicely made, good quality deck of cards. But it's not just a deck of cards, the special value of this deck is that Viking design and the unique looks/styles you get on certain cards in the deck. I find these designs to be rather well done and creative, definitely gets people talking at the poker table during our home games of how cool certain cards look (sometimes people reveal their hand that way! Ooops!)
This is a nice looking card deck. The design is viking themed and has cool pips as well as very nice looking face cards. It's a Bicycle deck as well so feels well, shuffles good and has good weight to it.If you're looking for a nice deck of cards with a cool looking theme, can't go wrong with this.
These Viking-Themed Bicycle Playing Cards: Premium Poker & Collection Deck with Norse Saga & Shield Imagery. Limited Edition, Ideal for Adults, Card Collectors, Norsemen & Valhalla Enthusiasts come in a protective plastic case, which is a nice touch given the price of the deck. This deck has the expected USPCC-made Bicycle quality. The cards shuffle and deal very smoothly. This deck doesn't just have a custom back. It also has custom face cards, in addition to custom pips. I don't love the face cards as much as I do some art decks. The monotone art is striking, but not my favorite. I do think the custom pips are really pretty. Also, instead of the usual gaff cards (rules and social media), two art cards (one double back, one double face) are included. This isn't my favorite custom deck, but I do think it would make a nice gift for someone who is into the Vikings.
I am not a regular card player, but I do like Viking imagery and artwork, along with other quirky things, so I think this deck is pretty cool. The cards themselves are normal playing cards, normal size, and shuffle well. All of the artwork and the uniqueness of the deck is what is most appealing. I don't find it to be a particularly good deal, as far as cards go, but it would make a really nice gift for anyone into viking shows or artwork.
excelente! todo bien, envío rápido!!
Very cool set of cards if you like the Viking theme and the set comes with a plastic storage case as well. I do wish that the other Ace cards had more elaborate artwork like the spade has...not sure why that one is the only one like a ship? The Ace of Spades is probably my favorite card in this deck...the face cards are OK but could have been a little fancier. One card has a double back and another has a King/2.Still, a neat set.
I really love the Bicycle Viking playing cards. We do medieval re-enactment as Viking personas, so it's really fun to incorporate any aspect of Viking culture into our home lives. These cards are beautifully illustrated, with clean, crisp printing, on sturdy, well-cut cards. I was surprised that it arrived in a plastic case to keep them protected! Looks great, the only downside is that, when playing a game of cards, the people playing kept getting distracted by the artwork!
