Federal 52 v2 Playing Cards USPCC

Almost five years ago, my journey as a full-time playing card designer started with the original Federal 52 Kickstarter project. During that project, I designed two unique court card sets that spanned across 11 different editions in the series.

The Federal 52 2nd Edition is a hybrid of both the original Federal 52 court card set and artwork (featured in the Federal 52, Gold Certificate, and Silver Certificate decks), and the artwork of the Reserve Note decks. In this edition, I have taken my favorite artistic elements of the entire Federal 52 series and created an entirely new and unique deck of playing cards.

Production Specs:

  • Initial print run of 2500 decks.
  • Printed by the United States Playing Card Company.
  • Printed on Bee Casino Stock (the same as the original Fed 52 series).
  • Cards have an embossed air-cushioned finish.
  • Tuck case has full-color printing, embossing, and hot stamped foiling. On premium matte finished stock.
  • Gold foil seal.
  • Made in the USA with recycled materials.

A great new edition

The Federal 52 v2 Playing Cards printed at USPCC is an amazing second edition to the Federal 52 Jackson Robinson Deck.

So cool

As soon as I realized these existed, I had to grab a few.. the Chinese version as well. I haven't opened any of them as they are sitting pretty on my cabinet. Maybe one day!

Even better than the 1st edition

People familiar with Jackson Robinson's (JR) work will not be disappointed with this deck. It's a great addition to his incredible currency series which many now go for high prices on Ebay. People new to JR and wondering what's the fuss all about should pick this up as a great intro into JR's work. As David of MagicOrthodoxy said, "it's the best of" JR's Federal 52 series collected into 1 deck.

The tuckbox is an incredible work of art. The intricate detailing that demands the deck to be opened and touched to experience and appreciate the work. You can also see the intricate work reflected in the cards itself. The currency theme goes through the whole deck, with the parchment look. The aces look like special currency details and the courts are fantastic as well. Take the time to go through the deck and cards to appreciate this masterpiece.

Beautiful, but there was a problem.

A fantastic work of art, by the hands of artist Jackson Robinson. A beautiful tuck case, with exquisite workmanship. A deck that should be in your collection. Really beautiful. But there is a little printing problem in this run: the guide card, which indicates the names of the people depicted on the court cards, bears the name Diamonds instead of Clubs. I failed the Instagram and KingsWil told me that I was not the only one.
