Bugs

These are quite attractive. I like the black version, more elaborate background, but am thinking about getting the other one, too. These are fine quality, and not a dull deck of the same old pips and other details that are in all of the standard decks. There are delightful buggy touches throughout this deck. The ladybugs are a lucky symbol with a nice aesthetic, and definitely a deck that grabs interest.

For lovers of ladybugs

These are certainly attractive novelty decks, that will appeal especially to collectors, and of course lovers of ladybugs. The artwork was done by Polish artist Artur Rajch, and some will recognize his distinct style from the Guard decks. Artur has made full use of the card canvas, and this is especially evident on the lovely court cards. Although they build on traditional features expected in court cards, like the King of Hearts suicide king, the artwork is otherwise far from traditional, and has a very lavish and stylish feel about it. The spotted design is applied to all the pips throughout the deck, including the indices. The indices use a somewhat unusual font, and are further decorated by a miniature ladybug for added fun. The number cards also look heavily customized. All the Aces have oversized pips decorated with a black and red spotted design, and are touched with a leafy floral pattern. Not a practical deck, but a very artistic one.

Captured By The Lady Bug

I originally saw these cards on Kickstarter but wasn't inspired to join the campaign and back them . I placed an order for some other cards here at PCD .com and received a sample card of the 4 of hearts from the Black Lady Bug deck . I was immediately captured by the originality and beauty of this card . This deck had a lot of creativity put into it and is well worth a 10 rating on my scale of 1 to 10 ! I purchased both versions. I do like the Black version better but they are both a must have for any collection . I will at some point try to get a gilded version of the Black deck ! Don't call Orkin on these Lady Bugs ! Buy you a set !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liked these WAY more than I thought I would.

As a theme, ladybugs sounded less than awe inspiring. But the deck delivers a fantastic looking design and some beautiful whimsical custom courts. Definitely go for the black deck - the contrast is significantly better than the red one and the back design pops much better.
