One of my favorite decks of all time. This deck is proof positive that you don't have to have an elaborate, ornate, over the top design to score five stars. The blue box and red seal is a beautiful start. The symmetrical back designs with the flowers at the corners, arrows thru skulls, and an "infinity" figure eight snake design sparks a feeling of wanderlust, and makes me wish I was hiking in Joshua Tree again. My imagination makes me think that this is the deck that is on a table in the house of Bruce Springsteen's character in the song "Dry Lightning". There are two full sized and identical jokers featuring the horse and rider looking off into the night sky. There is a beautiful ace of spades (that almost won me over all by itself), adorned with six shooter pistols, crossed keys, and a skull. The two thru ten cards have a plain white background (as do all other cards) but have custom fonts and pip styles. The center pips on the other aces, while not quite as well adorned as the spade, are very nicely done as well. The court cards are custom wild west style characters, but it's nice that you can still see a glimmer here and there of the standard court card facial features, allowing you to see how the standard court was transformed into what we have here. This deck is simplicity at its finest, giving just enough to wow you, but without any unnecessary designs to confuse you or clutter the cards. The artist almost made this look too easy. Five stars well earned!
