Suits of cards have symbolized 4 battling kingdoms for a long time. Each suite is the whole world of kings, queens, warriors, etc. The world that was filled with unique culture, nature, legends, and heroic deeds. Illustration unites these four worlds with colors and rhythm.

Spades

The Spades is African culture. The primeval world of astonishing contrasts. There is scorching sunlight which is replaced by the cold scintillation of stars. And the absolute silence of the night is disturbed by a drum rhythm near a ritual fire burning in a boundless desert. The ancient tribal traditions carried through thousands of years living here. An invariably harmony of human and nature gives a force and exposes to a danger. Every hunter might become prey. Only instincts can help a human to survive in the fight with unexplored.

Diamonds

The Diamonds is fairy-tail Japan. It is a country where the sun rises and wind plays in bonsai branches. Simplicity penetrates everyday life here. The air is cut by a katana and is filled with a smell of sakura with birds singing in its branches. It is the world of brave samurais, enigmatic geishas who tap their getas and mythic dragons that guard gods’ houses far away in the mountains.

Clubs

The Clubs embody a medieval culture of Europe. Dark times when legends were written in castles by candles light. Brave knights winning ladies hearts and performing feats, monsters living far away on the end of the world, and magical animals with luminous horns bestowing eternal life fill these legends.

Hearts

The Hearts is spicy and colorful India. The stories about charming princesses and brave warriors are told by a sensual dance of graceful interlacing hands. It tells you about charming princes and brave warriors.

A fragile lotus and a majestic anise-tree, vaporous silk and a shining marble palace walls are singing about love,

that is beyond time and distance. Any day can become a celebration if it is spiced with flowers, music, and songs."

Prototype

I love this deck series and was super happy to add the prototype deck to my collection. Wish it would have been printing with USPCC or another decent printer though.

Great Deck Design, Lacking with MPC Quality

The 5th Kingdom Prototype Playing Cards printed at MPC is a great prototype deck just lacking in the lower quality of MPC card stock.

Amazing transformation artwork

I love transformation decks, so this was an instant hit with me. It is a prototype however, so with printing by MPC it won't handle as good as a Bicycle produced deck. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Kickstarter which will have these printed by USPCC, but meanwhile the actual printing of these decks is excellent, it's just the handling that is not quite up to USPCC standards. Aside from that, these look and feel great. I'm a huge fan of transformation decks, and this one is especially creative and beautiful! I also love decks that depict different cultures, and that's exactly what Maria has aimed for here, with each suit representing a different kingdom.

It's a prototype...so don't expect the finish to be its "final form"...

I love the artwork on this deck. Love. The theme is great and so well executed in the beautiful artwork. Sure, the finish of the tuck and cards is overwhelming, but it's a prototype, so that is to be expected. My couple knocks to the design: First is the jokers. I don't think they fit the theme well despite the fact that they are in the same art style. Second...one way backs! As well drawn as the backs are, I wish the time had gone into making it two way!
