Arthurian Holy Grail Playing Cards

The legendary Arthurian Playing Cards return!

The Arthurian Holy Grail Edition playing cards are hand-illustrated, medieval playing cards celebrating the story and legend of King Arthur and many characters that have surrounded his court for hundreds of years. This medieval playing card deck is illustrated in the style of The Book of Kells that is believed to have originated in the same geographical area around the same time as the legend of King Arthur.

Jackson has redesigned one of his early Kickstarter decks to feature some of the most advanced design, printing & manufacturing techniques of modern time. Every card of the Arthurian Holy Grail Edition features new and vibrant artwork that stays true to the era and legend of King Arthur. With texture-layered, multi-colored foiling on each card, Jackson has embodied the legends-and-tales theme in one beautifully crafted luxury playing card deck.

This was my first order from the site. It arrived with 3 extra single cards from different decks, which was unexpected and really cool for collecting. This deck is already my favourite deck. I'm an Arthurian legend nerd, and these were sold out when I first started browsing the site. Ordered as soon as they were back in stock and I'm not disappointed. Both sides of the cards have metallic ink, the tuck case is beautiful, and the designs are brilliant. Details like the Queen and King of clubs both holding Excalibur, Lancelot riding his horse with a lance on the ace of hearts. I noticed the pairing of Igraine with Merlin and Uther with Margause, I would have expected Lady Igraine in the same suit as Uther, but that's just a design curiosity. The deck itself is outstanding. After opening the tuck case a couple of times there is a small crease in the gold ink of the sword, and I'm honestly a little hesitant to actually use the deck, it's so nice. Too intimidated to shuffle it so I can't review its playing quality, but it feels like it'll riffle well. Overall, great art and design, the matte red of the tuck case pairs well with the metallic gold and gives it a regal effect. Beautiful show piece, might only break it out when the king comes over for poker night.

Gorgeous

This deck left me speechless when I unwrapped it. The tuck box forms a sword when opened and reveals a intricate and beautiful deck inside. Worth EVERY penny.

Decadent

Absolutely gorgeous; my only complaint is that the characters aren't identified anywhere and as an Arthuriana nerd I MUST KNOW. (I did spot Gawain.) They are definitely a little too heavy for playing actual card games, but fine for the light use I plan to make of them.

One of my favorite KWP decks

This is a wonderful and beautiful deck that references both illuminated manuscripts and Celtic imagery. Nice use of foil. A bit on the thick side, so they feel a little awkward to handle. But this deck is a must for collectors
