Really nice deck!

I'm a big fan of Alice In Wonderland, and I've been waiting for this deck for a while now and I was so glad it was available again.

The design on the back features the White Rabbit (obviously!) And I really like the court cards which feature various characters from the classic story. The number cards also have a different design according to the suit which is nice to see.

One more to add to the collection!

Nice Alice deck!

It took me a short while to warm up to these cards before I ordered them. I like the pencil drawings of the court cards which indeed are similar to the Tenniel illustrations (though I really prefer the Tenniel version!) The characters on the court cards appear to be from a stage play, but not one I recognize.

As for the "unique gaff card" the only other card I got besides the double-backed card has the dormouse on one side with the text "We're all mad here" while the verso is like an ad-card with the list of characters and their corresponding court cards -- don't know if that qualifies as a unique gaff card with multiple uses. Dormouse side could be used as a card change.

A classic tribute to Alice in Wonderland

The White Rabbit deck was inspired by the well-known Lewis Carroll works, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. It uses traditional black and white line art reminiscent of the classic John Tenniel woodcut illustrations for these stories.

This deck features black and white line style drawings. The white rabbit is central on the card-backs and Ace of Spades. Alice is represented by the Queen of Spades, but other favourite characters present on the court cards include the King and Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, March Hare, Dodo, Gryphon, Duchess, Mock Turtle, Lory, Frog Footman, and Knave of Hearts. Custom Jokers include the Caterpillar and Cheshire Cat. The artist has also incorporated an enormous amount of detail; it's only a pity that this detail can be somewhat hard to appreciate on the printed cards, given the small size of a single playing card.

The pips on the number cards are also very charming, and are customized to incorporate elements from the story. Spades = the white rabbit; Diamonds = the dodo; Clubs = Mad Hatter's hat; Hearts = King/Queen of Hearts' crown. The number cards also have delightful borders and small illustrations add touches of thematic flavour.

The amount of detail and the black and white means that this deck isn't the most practical for actual use, since distinguishing the card identity isn't as easy as it could be, but they are very pretty to look at, and do work fine to use if you want to. - BoardGameGeek reviewer EndersGame
