Aureo Black Bicycle Playing Cards

The rare black version of the popular Aureo deck

In the early 1500s Leonardo Da Vinci illustrated "La Divina" (The Divine Proportion) a book written by mathematician Luca Pacioli that described a mathematical theory called "The Golden Ratio" which was used in Renaissance paintings and sculptures to achieve balance and beauty. Da Vinci later called this sectio aurea or the Golden section. The gold foil and swirl designs on the tuck bring the Golden ratio to life in this unique deck of cards.

Black + Gold = AMAZING

The gold on black look of this deck is amazing. There's the perfect blend so nothing looks too overwhelming, and the cards feel amazing. The incorporation of Da Vinci is also a nice addition to the deck.

Gold!

I'm a sucker for any gold foil/emboss/shine design but these cards come across as elegant and luxurious (which isn't bad given the low price point). Black and gold throws up a great contrast (which is why it's such a reliable combination, I suppose)

For any art history, Da Vinci or even math nerds the Golden Ratio Joker is an easy sell (note the golden ratio spirals as part of the court card design, for instance) but "casual" onlookers will find a lot to behold.

Magicians could easily transition from this card handling into a bit of coin magic (The Miser's Dream, for instance) to vary their act..
